We're delighted to hear that our project with PH+ Architects has been nominated for a RIBA South East Award this year.
The family home that doubles up as a workshop and studio, is located in the beautiful area of Goudhurst in Kent, surrounded by English countryside. It was formerly an apple packing station and has been affectionately named 'the Fruit Belt'.
A key part of the brief was to remain true to the original design and celebrate the surrounding agricultural environment, which PH+ have executed beautifully.
The project had to be in-keeping with the strict conditions set by the planners, who required visual integrity, scale, structure and agricultural character of the original Station. The incorporation of our Welltec range for the roof of the project, assisted with meeting the criteria; it was fitting with the agricultural style of the building whilst adding an element of design depth against the black brickwork.
The five bedroom family home has brought a vibrant new lease of life to the Apple Store. It includes a triple height yoga studio, photography workshop, pool and hidden nooks of play areas for the children.
