Last week we supported the latest Specification Live event hosted by the Architect's Journal in London.
We heard from several architects who have recently completed a retrofit and refurbishment project including guest talks from Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt, Gort Scott and Piercy & Company.
The event was as insightful as ever and it was especially pleasing to hear about the projects from the retrofit & refurb sector. Whilst we love new builds, it's always fascinating to see how the architect infuses a new lease of life in to a retrofit project while keeping the historic charm of the site.
The projects that we heard about on the night were also featured in the latest edition of AJ Specification. First up, we heard about The Memorial Hall by Ayre Chamberlain Architects and Diamond Schmitt Architects who have vastly improved the facilities for the students whilst honouring those who lost their lives during WWI.
We also heard about the Gort Scott's refurbishment of Waltham Forest's Magistrate Court, which has brought a new community spirit to the once non-descript building.
Finally, we heard from a project with a slightly different budget; Savile Row in London was refurbished by Piercy & Company and a project that we worked on. It includes a spectacular floating staircase which brings an element of lightness in to the building. The luxurious tone of the building is set off by the beauty and elegance of simple, raw materials. This includes our Copper 30 mesh from our woven range.
We hope everyone that attended had a great evening, as we sure did. If anyone who visited us on the night would like any further information about what we do, please feel free to get in touch.
